ECZ urged to reduce nomination fees for women

Patricia Banda-Local Government Gender Equality Committee Chairperson RASHIDA MULENGA has appealed to the Electoral Commission of Zambia-ECZ- to consider reducing nomination fees for women to enable many more to  participate in the 2021 general Elections.

Ms MULENGA says the issue of fees may disadvange some women who may wish to contest in the elections.
She was speaking in an interview with ZNBC news after she opened the first annual meeting of women held at Crest Golf view in Lusaka which drew participants from women in the local government Association and from various political parties.
Ms MULENGA also said there is need to address the issue of violence because it has potential to scare aware women from participating in politics.
