ECL MOURNS CHIEFTAINESS MWENDA

President Edgar Lungu says the late Chieftainess Mwenda of the Chishinga People of Chipili District was a patriot who worked tirelessly with the Government to bring development to the District.
President Lungu says the Chieftainess served her people diligently and ensured that Chipili was declared a District.
He further says the traditional leader worked relentlessly to see to it that a Secondary School was built in the District.
And the President has called on the Chieftainess’s successor to continue working with Government to build on from where she left from.
The Head of State said this through PF Secretary General Davis Mwila, who led a team of PF- Members of the Central Committee and Cabinet Ministers to the funeral house.
And speaking on behalf of the bereaved family, Senior Chief Mushota of the Chishinga people in Kawambwa District thanked Government for grieving with the royal family and for facilitating logistics at the funeral.
The Chieftainess who died on Monday March 8th ,2019 aged 81, after an illness is survived by Five children and 38-grandchildren.
The traditional leader will be put to rest today in Chipili District.
