EAZ hopes 2019 income tax to remain same

ECONOMICS Association of Zambia (EAZ) president Lubinda Haabazoka does not expect Government to increase income tax in the 2019 budget to be presented next month by Minister of Finance Margaret Mwanakatwe.
Mr Haabazoka, however, expects Government to introduce new taxes on goods and services in order to increase its revenue base.
“I expect the introduction of certain taxes to increase the revenue of government. I expect the operationalisation of the health tax which was announced and the 30 Ngwee imposed on WhatsApp and other social media platforms,” he said.
Dr Haabazoka predicted that the 2019 budget will not be an easy one, but expects Government to go easy on income tax payers.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
