DRC NEEDS CONTINENTAL SOLIDARITY-AU

The African Union has called for Continental solidarity in helping resolve political instability in the Democratic Republic of Congo -DRC- following disputed presidential election results.
AU chairperson Paul Kagame says the DRC is looking up to the regional blocks to resolve its current political problems in the aftermath of the December 30 polls.
President Kagame says African solidarity is key to avoiding the involvement of people outside the continent who may meddle in the affairs of African Countries.
ZNBC’s Kennedy Bwalya reports that President Kagame said this when he opened the AU Heads of State Summit at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The summit was convened by the AU leader to review the political situation in DRC.
President Edgar Lungu was among the 16 heads of state and government in attendance.
On Arrival yesterday President Lungu cautioned against manipulation of the will of the people of DRC saying they should be allowed to forge their own destiny.
The AU Heads of State and Government high consultative summit is now under closed doors.
Earlier Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat said the DRC political situation remains a matter of great concern.
