DRC Delegation in Zambia

By Etambuyu Katota -A delegation from Katanga Province in the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo -DRC- is in Zambia to learn how the country is implementing its road infrastructure project.Haut-Katanga Governor Jacques Kyabula Katwe says his country wants to learn from Zambia’s well-coordinated road infrastructure network and replicate it in the DRC.Mr. Katwe says the two countries can collaborate in various fields of investment hence his visit to Zambia is also aimed at meeting entrepreneurs who can invest in a number of economic activities and small industries in the DRC.And Mr. Katwe has appealed to the Zambian government to look into the plight of the DRC particularly Haut-Katanga province which is faced with a mealie meal crisis.He was speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo today.And Mr. Lusambo said Zambia has become a leading example to other African countries through its on-going infrastructure development.Mr. Lusambo however stated that appeals for help regarding the mealie meal crisis in the DRC will be referred to the Ministry of Agriculture which will handle it.
