Draws for 2022 AWCON, 2022 U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, and U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers set for Monday

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will on Monday hold the drawing of lots for all pending CAF/FIFA Women’s competition qualifiers.

CAF will hold a draw for the Morocco 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, African Qualifiers the 2022 India FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, and the African Qualifiers for the 2022 Costa Rica FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

“The drawing of lots for all pending CAF/FIFA Women’s competition qualifiers are scheduled to take place on Monday, May 10, 2021, at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo, Egypt at 11:00GMT.

The various competitions include;

-The Qualifiers of the Total Women’s Cup of Nations – Morocco 2022.

-African Qualifiers FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup India 2022.

-African Qualifiers FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 22.”

The draw will be held behind closed doors without the presence of team representatives nor the media – as the CAF Headquarters in Cairo is in lockdown until the end of the month due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, the event will be broadcasted live on all CAF social media platforms.

The Copper Queens are currently preparing for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics tournament after they emerged as the sole representatives from the African Continent. The U-17 and U-20 will have a second bite at the cherry after they both capitulated against South Africa in the qualification for the 2020 edition before the two tournaments were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
