Young Green Eagles 2-1 Blue Arrows

Young Green Eagles continued their dominance in the FAZ Division one Zone Four as they beat Zambia Air force sponsored side Blue Arrows 2-1 to stay top of the log.

The visitors were on the front foot in the early stages but had to wait for 20 minutes for their first real chance which fell to Kelvin but his effort from 20 yards hit the upright. The host had their chances on the half our mark after their striker found a way through on goal but the Blue Arrows keeper did well to deny them a goal.

The game failed to provide alot of goal mouth actions despite arrows dominating througout the first half as it went 0-0 to halftime. 20 minutes into the second the Eaglets broke the deadlock taking the lead one nil. The visitors had a wounderful opportunity to level matters in the 70th minutes but the strikers half volley was brilliantly saved by the goalkeeper from point blank range.

The Eaglet’s doubled their lead 10 minutes to time in a controversial manner as the striker got the ball from the goalkeeper but the referee saw nothing wrong and the goal stood to double Eagles lead . Arrows responded quickly with just two minutes later catching the hosts off guard and were awarded a late penalty after their striker was fauled inside the box. Mike took it and scored but it was too late as they could not grab a late equalizer in the stoppage time.

2-1 the match ended making sure Eagles maintain their one point lead at the summit.
