DIALOGUE LAUNCH GETS NEW DATE

The three church mother bodies facilitating national dialogue and reconciliation have moved the official launch for the dialogue process from January 5th to 18th 2019.
The church mother bodies note that the change is meant to allow enough time to prepare for the event.
They are hopeful that political party Presidents will put aside the new date during their campaigns to be in attendance.
The church mother bodies have also stated that their consultative meeting with Political Party Presidents on the Dialogue process held last Friday at Kapingila House was successful as 23 political parties turned up and discussed a wide range of issues affecting the nation.
They add that submissions made to the Church by the Political Party leaders were very constructive, forward looking and challenging to the church mother bodies as facilitators.
The church mother bodies have however regretted that President Edgar Lungu and other Political Party Presidents could not attend because they did not receive the confirmation of the meeting in good time.
They say their voice on national issues is solely motivated by their wish to see national unity and a just society where citizens live in peace with the lord and one another.
The three are the Council of Churches in Zambia -CCZ-, the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia -EFZ- and the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops -ZCCB-.
This is according to a communiqué availed to ZNBC News in Lusaka by CCZ Communications Officer Michael Mazakaza was signed by ZCCB President Bishop George Lungu, CCZ President Bishop Sydney Sichilima and EFZ Board Chairperson Bishop Paul Mususu.
