DESTRUCTION IN PEMBA

(ZANIS) A hailstorm has left a trail of destruction in Pemba District’s Mulampa area in Kasikili Ward leaving 215 pupils from Mulampa Community School out of school.

The entire School’s only 1 by 3 classroom block had its roof blown off and teaching and learning materials damaged.

The storm has also left over 25 families without shelter as the roofs of their houses were blown off by heavy winds.

Pemba District Commissioner OBEY HABEENZU, who was accompanied by the District Education Board Secretary (DEBS) NZILA HIMOONDE, has assured the school of government’s quick intervention into the matter.

Meanwhile, affected villagers have appealed to government to assist them in any way possible.
