DC HAPPY WITH DEVELOPMENT

Kitwe District Commissioner Binwell Mpundu is happy with the strides government has made this year to deliver development to the City.
Mr. Mpundu says the opening of the 1-point 2-billion Kwacha ECL Mall and  rehabilitation works being done under the Two  hundred million dollars Nkana Water and Sanitation project is a clear manifestation of Government’s resolve to improve people’s lives in the region.
He disclosed that residents of Mindolo will under the Nkana water project have flushable toilets while local contractors have also been given jobs by the main contractor to enhance job creation.
Mr. Mpundu told ZNBC News in Kitwe that residents were becoming agitated with the poor road network but works to change the face of roads in the City are progressing well.
The DC said AVIC international has in the last four months kicked off major township road rehabilitation works under the 2-hundred and 50- million dollars Zambia urban road project.
He said the good roads that residents where yearning for in selected townships are now becoming a reality.
Mr. Mpundu said so far township roads have been worked on in Kawama, Garnetorn, Twatasha, Riverside and the town centre.
He added that China Henna will also start rehabilitating 90-kilometers of township roads after the rainy season.
Yesterday, President Lungu officially opened the Business Park at the Edgar Changwa Lungu Mall in Kitwe.
