Dalisoul mesmerises Chipata

By JULIUS PHIRI –
ZAMBIA’S famous ‘Mwana Wamukomboni’, otherwise known as Dalisoul, last Friday brought the border town of Chipata to a standstill when he performed on the eve of the annual Choova Bicycle Race festival.
The show was facilitated by the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) which made it possible for the musician to visit Chipata.
The live concert was held at Barclays Bank square.
Dalisoul’s performance was so enticing that some public service workers abandoned their offices to catch a glimpse of the musician doing what he knows best.
Thanks to Dalisoul, there were no dull moments at the Choova Bicycle race as people were treated to one of the most popular Lusaka-based musicians.
Dalisoul, who was performing with his dancers, was in Chipata after being invited by RTSA which was in Eastern Province promoting road safety.
Dalisoul also shared the stage with Chipata-based musician Esther Jere, who is locally known as Ejay.
Later in the evening, the entertaiment shifted to Luangwa House’s Peace Mtenguleni Gardens where various traditional dances were arranged by the organisers of Choova Bicycle race.
Ingoma, Malaila, Gule Wa Mkulu and Chioda were among the dances performed in the evening.
The evening edition of the show, which began around 20:00 hours, went up to 22:30 hours during which a local woman named Mwanida won herself a brand new bicycle from a raffle draw.
On Saturday the road safety show shifted to the Chipata golf course.
