Daka out of boot and off clutches but still far from being back
Leicester City head coach Steve Cooper gave an update on Chipolopolo forward Patson Daka who is out nursing an injury.
Cooper revealed that Daka was out of the boot and was no longer on clutches but still has a long way to go before he can be back on the pitch.
Daka missed the Copper Bullets back to back 2024 AFCON qualifiers against Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone.
Cooper was speaking during his press conference ahead of tomorrow’s English Premier League game against Crystal Palace.
The Foxes are due at Selhurst Park for a 3pm BST kick-off on Saturday as the Premier League season resumes following this week’s international fixtures.
“It’s long-term recovery but he’s out of his boot now and his crutches. He had an operation soon after the injury so he’s looking a bit more normal in terms of how he is walking around the place. He’s on course but still a while away,” Cooper said.
Daka limped off in the first half in Leicester City’s final pre-season match and has yet to return to the field.
The Zambian forward was withdrawn in the 37th minute through injury and replaced with Stephy Mavididi.
