CSPR notes need for inclusion

The Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) has demanded that the poor be included in the design and implementation of programmes and policies that affect them.

CSPR Board Chairperson Isaac Ngoma says there is need for a conducive environment that foster partnership, accountability and inclusivity for all citizens to enjoy their rights and live a life of dignity.

Mr. Ngoma has observed that while government is issuing politically correct policy statements of eradicating poverty and not leaving anyone behind, the reality is mostly different.

He is concerned that leaders have continued playing politics while millions of Zambians continue to suffer the humiliation of poverty and a violation of their human rights.

Mr. Ngoma has told QTV News that he thinks that the notion of a free and prosperous Zambia remains just a dream as simple things such as access to basic services including legal justice remain an illusion.

He is worried that this scenario continues to keep most of the people perpetually trapped in poverty.
