CSOs calls for support of incarcerated women

Various Youth Led Non- Government Organizations-NGOs -have called for concerted efforts in supporting women in need including those incarcerated in Correctional Facilities.

KAUMBA KUFFO, the Chief Executive Officer at Tithandizane, says more needs to be done to end stigmatisation of women incarnated in Correctional Facilities .

Speaking during the donation of assorted items; among them sanitary towels, lotion and peanut butter to Lusaka Central Correctional Facility, Ms. KUFFO urged organizations to come on board and contribute to such initiatives .

Meanwhile, MULENGA MUNDASHI Legal practitioners Partner, HOPE NDAWO said as the country endeavors to attain social inclusion, basic necessities have to be accessed by all citizens including women in prison.

Ms. NDAWO said women need support from everyone in society in order to effectively contribute towards the development of the country and live a meaningful life.

And Patumba-Hobbiton Investment Management, Chief Executive Officer, THIZA LUNGU, said it is important to seize opportunities that positively impact society .

She says such initiatives should not wait for Women’s Day but should be a regular social responsibility.
