COVID-19: ZNBC STAFF COMMENDED

By Tamara Muswala:

Copperbelt Permanent Secretary Bright Nundwe has commended ZNBC staff and other journalists in the region for working tirelessly to report on Covid-19.

Mr. Nundwe says ZNBC staff and journalists in the country have been on the frontline disseminating information on the deadly pandemic which has continued to ravage the country.

He says that is why the provincial administration on the Copperbelt thought of the welfare of journalists who risk their lives every day by donating 4-thousand face masks and sanitizers to the media.

Mr. Nundwe said this at the ZNBC Kitwe studio when he handed over the donated materials from the disaster management and mitigation unit to various media houses.

And ZNBC Northern Region acting Director Chimuka Ngangu thanked government for reaching out to staff who go out every day to gather and process news in the new normal.

Earlier Kitwe District Commissioner Chileshe Bweupe commended ZNBC workers for sacrificing their lives to cover stories on Covid 19.

Meanwhile Provincial Health Director Robert Zulu said journalists need to be provided for in a special way because they are front line workers just like the health personnel who meet and interact with different people every day.
