COVID 19: ECL WANTS SCHOOLS SAFE

By Ruth Chayinda:President Edgar Lungu has directed Ministers of General Education Minister, Health and Local Government to ensure the schools are safe as they partially reopen on the on June 1.President Lungu says measures should be put in place to ensure that children are protected from Covid 19 under the new normal arrangement.The Head of State says government is still engaging stakeholders before Universities and Colleges are opened .He says in the mean time students will continue to use various platform to access lesson electronically.He said when he addressed the Nation on Covid 19 at State House.President Lungu also announced that the country has recorded 54 new cases, bringing the national total to 9-hundred and 20 out of the 20 thousand tested for covid 19.During the same briefing the President announced that the ministry of health will now be giving Covid-19 updates on Mondays and Fridays.And on the economic side, President Lungu has urged companies in various economic sectors to re-engineer their companies to enable them stay afloat during and after the Covid-19 pandemic.
