COVID-19 CLAIMS 21 IN 24 HOURS

Zambia has recorded 21 Covid-19 deaths countrywide in the last 24 hours.

Seventeen have been directly classified as covid-19 deaths, while four of them are associate deaths.

In a statement to ZNBC News, Health Minister Jonas Chanda has also noted a reduction in the daily rate of positive Covid-19 cases in the country from an average of 18 percent in the previous week to about 10 percent.

Dr Chanda has however called on the people not to drop their guard, but still be on high alert.

He said Zambia has recorded 8-hundred and nine cases of covid-19 in the last twenty-four hours from a total of 7,517 tests conducted.

Dr Chanda said this brings the cumulative number of cases recorded to 46,146 in the country.

He has applauded the frontline workers for their hard work in containing the pressure that has come with the pandemic and thanked Zambia’s cooperating partners and NGOs for the support rendered to Government.
