COVID-19 ASSOCIATED DEATHS AT 3

Zambia has recorded a slight increase in the number of COVID-19 associated deaths from zero in a day to three in the last 24 hours.

Health Minister SYLVIA MASEBO says the country has also recorded a continued increase in hospitalization of persons with underlining conditions.

Speaking during a COVID-19 media briefing in Lusaka today, Ms. MASEBO said the country has in the last 24 hours recorded 1-hundred and 88 new COVID-19 cases.

Ms. MASEBO said vaccination remains key in presenting better chances to fight COVID-19.

She added that the country is also expecting over one million Pfizer and over 8 hundred Johnson and Johnson vaccines.

Ms. MASEBO also revealed that her ministry is controlling the measles in Mushindamo District and currently following up on cases of measles recorded in Solwezi and Kalumbila Districts.
