Councils urged to study CDF guidelines

ZANIS

The Parliamentary Committee on Cabinet Affairs has urged councils to take seriously the implementation of the monitoring and Evaluation policy guidelines on the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects and other government funded projects.

Committee Chairperson, ANDREW LUBUSHA says proper implementation of the M&E Policy guidelines will help reduce wastage and diversion of the CDF and other public resources.

He said government has been losing huge sums of money as a result of lack of monitoring and Evaluation of government funded projects.

Speaking in Kitwe when the Committee met Kitwe City council management and the District Administration to assess how far the district has gone in the implementation of the policy, Mr Lubusha said resources should be used prudently.

And Kitwe City Council Town Clerk Patrick Kambita thanked the Committee for recognizing the council’s work towards the implementation of the policy.
