COUNCIL OFFICERS FACE DISCIPLINARY ACTION FOR DELAYING CDF PROJECTS

Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary MAAMBO HAAMAUDU has warned that the Ministry will not hesitate to discipline council officers delaying the implementation of Constituency Development Fund-CDF projects.

Mr. HAAMAUDU says Government has released all the funds and the onus is on the officers charged with the responsibility to ensure the smooth implementation of CDF projects.

He has warned that officers delaying the implementation of CDF projects due to incompetence and malice risk being fired.

Mr. HAAMAUDU was speaking after inspecting the construction of a maternity wing and mothers’ shelter at Bwacha clinic and Kabwe General Hospital.

The Permanent Secretary who is in-charge of administration wondered why works on the two projects have delayed despite funds being available.
