Zambia U-17 national team cruised to a six nil win sweeping aside Eswatini with six goals in what was an emphatic and dominant performance from the Osward Mutapa tutored side.
The young Copper Bullets took the lead just five minutes into the match following some miscommunication at the back which allowed Moses Mulenga to sneak in and open the scoring. Rickson Ng’ambi doubled the Young Chipolopolo lead ten minutes when he curled a left-footed shot into the goal.
Captain of the side Miguel Chirwa added a third from the penalty-spot to firmly put Zambia in the lead. It was 4-0 on the stroke of halftime as Chipyoka Songa beat a defender before rounding off the keeper to score.
Julius Kumwenda added a fifth after some neat play from Peter Chikola on the wing, and Charles Mumba completed the scoring with a neat finish four minutes from fulltime, 6-0 the match ended.
In the second match of the day, Hosts Malawi recorded an impressive 3-0 victory over South Africa at a packed Mpira Stadium in Blantyre.
Dave Tobias scored a brace while Mike Thomu chipped in with a lone goal. Moses Mulenga was named player of the match in the Zambia game while Tobias got the gong in the Malawi win.
