Government says its anti-corruption crusade is part of measures to enhance good governance and the rule of law.

Justice Minister MULAMBO HAIMBE also says the corruption crusade is instrumental in the quest to recover plundered resources.

He further observes that government is committed to upholding the tenets of democracy as evidenced by its legal reforms.

Mr. HAIMBE has cited the revision of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia as some of the major legal reforms government is carrying out.

He said this in LUSAKA today when Swedish Ambassador for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law, CECILIA RUTHSTROM-RUIN and her delegation paid a courtesy on him.

Dr. RUTHSTROM-RUIN said ZAMBIA has sustained democracy although democratic fortunes in some nations have been compromised.
