Copperbelt PF Refutes Claims It Has Resolved To Endorse Sitting MPs As Candidates In 2021 Elections

By Chileshe Mwango

The Patriotic Front on the Copperbelt has Refuted Allegations that the Consultative Meeting held over the weekend Resolved to Endorse sitting members of parliament as candidates in the 2021 general elections.

A video has gone viral on social media in which an unnamed Christian Coalition party official has asked PF President Edgar Lungu not to accept the decision made by the party Administration in the province.

In the said video, the unnamed official explains that Christian Coalition Members who are also Members of the pf have been preparing themselves to stand on the ruling party ticket in 2021 but that the alleged resolution made by the executive committee in the province has disappointed many hopefuls.

However, Copperbelt Provincial Chairperson Nathan Chanda has clarified that contrary to the allegations, the consultative meeting only resolved to support sitting members of parliament up to the end of their term of office.

Mr. Chanda tells Phoenix News that the Party also resolved that those with intentions to contest the 2021 elections on the pf ticket should not start campaigning now but should instead give serving Members of Parliament time to finish their mandate.
