Clean,safe water a top priority-Mposha

Peter Tembo-Water development Minister MIKE MPOSHA says the government has prioritized the provision of clean and safe water as one of the catalysts to achieving social-economic development.

Mr. MPOSHA says the new dawn administration has expressed this commitment towards providing clean and safe water to the Zambian people by increasing the allocation of money to the Ministry in the 2022 National Budget by nine percent.

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony of the new board members for Lusaka, Eastern and Lukanga water supply and sanitation companies in Lusaka , Mr. MPOSHA urged the new board members to play a critical role in improving water supply in the areas of t
eir institutions.

He urged the new board members to be transparent, accountable and provide the oversight on the operations of the three water utility companies.

Mr. MPOSHA said various institutions were consulted during the selection process and members were picked on merit, competence and experience.

And Lusaka Water and Sanitation Company Board Chairperson RICHIE NAWA said he will work at addressing the numerous challenges the people in Lusaka are facing especially those in compounds.
