Church Challenged to Condemn UPND Youths

By Hector Simfukwe-PF Copperbelt Chairperson Nathan Chanda has called on the Church and traditional leaders to condemn the behaviour of some Monze UPND cadres against President Edgar Lungu.Mr Chanda the conduct of the UPND cadres is unZambian.He said this in a statement made available to ZNBC News today.He said Zambia cannot be governed on tribal lines, hence the decision by President Lungu to take development to all corners of Zambia, including Monze where he was disrespected.Mr. Chanda says the fact that Southern Province has the largest share of infrastructure development is a sign that the President is not selective.And the Patriotic Front -PF- in Northern Province has condemned the behavior exhibited by United Party for National Development -UPND- cadres in Monze district when President Edgar Lungu visited the area last week.PF Northern Province Chairperson Chungu Bwalya explained that such behavior needs to be checked as it has potential to bring confusion in the country.Mr. Bwalya adds that there is need for people to differentiate between the Republican President and a party leader.He said Zambians need to respect the Republican President as he is the father of the nation and is recognised by the Constitution.Mr. Bwalya notes that Zambia is a Christian nation and that there is need for its people to work together in peace and harmony regardless of one’s political affiliation.Mr. Bwalya, who is also Northern Province Minister, said this in an interview with ZANIS in Kasama.Meanwhile, Mr. Bwalya has called for unity of purpose among Zambians, saying the PF wants to see a peaceful country.He has since advised Zambians to desist from engaging in acts that have potential to cause anarchy in the country.Mr. Bwalya has further urged the public especially youths not to be used as tools to perpetrate acts of indisciplineHe called on youths to engage in productive activities that will help uplift their welfare.
