CHOMA RECEIVES K8.7M YOUTH FUND

Choma District Commissioner, Protacial Mulenga says his office has received 8- point -7 million Kwacha from the Ministry of Youth to fund youth business ventures in the District.

Mr. Mulenga says projects such as agriculture and aquaculture will be given priority.

And Mr. Mulenga says traditional leaders in the District have already been engaged to secure some land for young people who will be funded by Government.

The District Commissioner said this in Choma when he checked on Fish Ponds belonging to United Aquaculture Corporative Society Limited, who received a 5-hundred and 52 thousand Kwacha grant from Government in 2019.

And Corporative Chairperson, Cyrus Mfula said his team managed to construct and stock 10 -Fish Ponds with fingerlings using money accessed from the Ministry of Commerce through the Zambia Agribusiness and Trade Project.

Mr. Mfula said the Cooperative is now winding up with the harvesting of 13 tonnes of Fish worth about 4-hundred and 50-thousand Kwacha.
