The Lusaka City Council has described the central business district as a high risk zone for the spread of Cholera.

Council Director for Public Health Victor Kagoli says this is due to low hygiene conditions.

He says some people have continued defecating in the open while hand washing practices are relatively low.

Mr Kagoli however says the local authority has started disinfecting international buses coming from Malawi as well as Eastern Province where cases of Cholera have been recorded.

He says the council is also conducting surveillance for high risk zones like Kanyama, Bauleni and Garden compounds.
