Choma-based side Green Eagles came from two goals down to earn a point in Kitwe against Nkana football club in the MTN Superleague on Sunday.

The Tonka Twende Head Coach Aggrey Chiyangi was full of praise for his side after they put up what he described as a spirited performance against the record 13-time Champions away at Chilata despite being down by 2-0.

“The team did not give up despite being down by 2-0 what was important, is to fight and capitalize on their opponents, we could have scored more especially in the second half but all in all it was a tough game they pushed us so hard,” Chiyangi told the ZamFoot Crew.

When asked about the change of performance in the last two games Chiyangi said the team has been working on their mistakes going forward.

“What was important is to rectify the mistakes we were making and that is what has helped us.”

Nkana took the lead in the 35th minute, Alex Ng’onga converting from the penalty spot after Patrick Gondwe was brought down in the box. Ronald Kampamba doubled the lead three minutes into the second half, converting from the spot.

The Kawale Boys then mounted a late comeback with Derrick Bulaya heading him from a corner in the 78th minute before Hosea Silwimba could seal the comeback with a close-range finish two minutes to time.

The next Assignment for Tonka Twende will be against the log leaders Green Buffaloes football club on Sunday at Independence Stadium in Choma Southern province.
