Chitambo DC dies in road traffic accident

CHITAMBO District Commissioner, EVANS CHOLA has died in a road accident on Great North Road around Chilata area of Mkushi District.

Mr. CHOLA, who was in his official vehicle, was travelling for a meeting in Kabwe.

And Police Spokesperson, RAE HAMOONGA says the accident happened around 06 hours after the vehicle overturned.

Mr HAMOONGA says the driver of the vehicle JONES MALIPILO 31 and PETER CHILOMBO, 33, a head teacher at Chiotwe Primary School in Chitambo sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at Mkushi district hospital.

He told ZNBC News that Mr CHOLA, who was seated in the back seat, was thrown outside through the window, sustaining fatal head injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at Mkushi district hospital.

Mr. HAMOONGA said Police are conducting investigations to determine the full circumstances surrounding the accident.

Meanwhile, Central Province Minister PRINCESS KASUNE says she has learnt with shock the death of Mr. CHOLA.

Ms KASUNE has described the death of Mr. CHOLA as a great loss to his family, Central Province and UPND as a Party.
