CHISOKONE MARKETEERS EMPOWERED

The Ministry of Youth, Sport and Child Development has given out empowerment funds to hundreds of youths at Kitwe’s Chisokone market.

Ministry of Youth, Sport and Child Development Director Cade Chikobo says there iis need for youths to tap into the 400 million youth empowerment fund government is dishing out.

Speaking at Chisokone Market in Kitwe when 100 youths mainly traders received the empowerment funds, Mr. Chikobo told the beneficiaries that the money is a revolving fund.

He urged the youths to use the money prudently and pay back so that other youths can as well benefit.

And, Kitwe District Commissioner Chileshe Bweupe thanked President Edgar Lungu for rolling out the empowerment to youths who are mainly traders.

Mr. Bweupe said many youths have had their businesses affected because of the coronavirus, adding that many lost employment.

Meanwhile, Mabvuto Tembo, one of the beneficiaries, thanked Government for rolling out the program to youths.
