Chipolopolo boosted by arrival of five foreign based players
The Zambia National Team has been boosted by the arrival of five foreign based players ahead of Friday’s Group G, Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Denmark based attacking midfielder Edward Chilufya who is on the books of Midtylland and Songa Chipyoka of Hapoel Petah Tikva became the latest players to join the Chipolopolo camp in Abidjan last evening.
The duo’s arrival brought the number of foreign based players to five following the arrival of Stoppilla Sunzu, Kings Kangwa and Gift Mphande earlier in the day.
Coach Avram Grant now has 15 players in camp with it expected to be a full house later today.
Zambia has set up base in Abidjan as part of their build up for Friday’s Group G Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations match against Cote d’Ivoire in Bouake.
The local contingent comprises Lawrence Mulenga, Victor Chabu, Toaster Nsabata, Kenneth Kasanga, Dominic Chanda, Killian Kanguluma, Kabaso Chongo, Zachariah Chilongoshi and Tandi Mwape.
Libya based Kelvin Kampamba who is on the books of Al Nasr Benghazi will not be part of Friday’s game after losing his mother in Kitwe.
Zambia plays Ivory Coast on Friday in Bouake before hosting Sierra Leone on September 10 in Ndola.
