Christopher Miti-Chipata City Mayor GEORGE MWANZA says hate speech and misinformation have far reaching consequences in society.
Mr MWANZA says in a democratic society where people are free to express themselves it is important to always verify information.
He was speaking during the Panos sponsored iVerify Zambia Capacity building training for fact checkers, response partners and the media in Chipata.
And Panos Southern Africa Executive Director VUSUMUZI SIFILE urged the media and other stakeholders not to disseminate information which is not authentic.
