China aided milling plants to be handed over to govt soon

Hannock Kasama-Three CHINA Aided Milling Plants in LUSAKA, MONZE and MPIKA are next month earmarked for handover to the ZAMBIAN government.

This has been revealed when Foreign Affair Minister STANLEY KAKUBO toured one of the Milling Plants in CHONGWE .

After the tour, Mr. KAKUBO said ZAMBIA must emerge not only as the mass producer of food for local consumption but also export.

Mr .KAKUBO urged the University of Zambia-UNZA Management, running the CHONGWE, LUSAKA CHINA Aided Milling Plants to scale up its capacity.

And CHINESE Ambassador to ZAMBIA LI JIE revealed that the construction of the CHINA Aided Milling Plants in LUSAKA, MONZE and MPIKA began in 2019.

Mr. LI said the plant is among the testimonies of cordial bilateral relations between CHINA and ZAMBIA.

Meanwhile University of ZAMBIA -UNZA Vice Chancellor LUKE MUMBA said among other ventures the CHONGWE, LUSAKA CHINA Aided Milling Plant will serve as practical tool for agriculture and other related faculties.

Professor MUMBA said the plant also stands as an aid to value addition to agricultural produces in the country.

The bilateral cooperation between ZAMBIA and CHINA for the Construction of the three milling plants was hatched in 2018.
