CHILUBI WATER TRANSPORT FARES TO REDUCE

By Hector Simfukwe:Transport and Communications Minister Mutotwe Kafwaya says Government will reduce the transport fare for the people that use the modern ferry popularly known as Lucheleng’anga in Chilubi District.Mr. Kafwaya says the decision has been made following the complaints by the people of Chilubi to President Edgar Lungu when he visited the area.Mr. Kafwaya says he will next week announce in Chilubi the new fare for people using the vessel.He says it will be pointless to have a modern ferry on the waters of Lake Bangweulu if the ordinary people cannot afford to use it because of high fares.The Transport Minister told ZNBC news that President LUNGU attentively listened to the concerns of the people of Chilubi regarding the fares and that something has been done to address the problem.Mr. Kafwaya said going forward government wants people who live on water bodies to have access to affordable, safe and reliable transport like the people of Chilubi.
