Chilubi Island Hospital begs for electricity

By Fred Mukelabai

Chilubi District Commissioner RISTO MUSHEMBE says the newly built Chilubi Mainland Hospital risks being a white elephant if it is not connected to electricity.

Mr. MUSHEMBE says failure to connect the hospital to power has compromised service delivery.

He said this when Rural Electrification Authority -REA- Board Chairperson LIKONGE MULENGA and management paid a courtesy call on Mr. MUSHEMBE.

And Ms. MULENGA said the authority will try its best to see to it that rural areas receive a fair share of Electrification.

Meanwhile REA Chief Executive Officer LINUS CHANDA assured the district commissioner that Chilubi mainland Hospital, Chaba Secondary school and the two Chiefs palaces will be connected to electricity.

The two chief’s Palaces are Chief CHIWANANGALA on the Mainland and chief MATIPA on the Island.
