CHILUBI ELECTIONS UPDATE :BALLOT BOXES AIRLIFTED

Ballot boxes from far flung areas in Chilubi are being moved to the totaling centre by chopper.

The counting of ballots in the Chilubi Town Council by-election was suspended 40 minutes after midnight, to allow the ferrying of ballot boxes from far flung areas by chopper.

Meanwhile, ruling Patriotic Front -PF- candidate in the Chilubi Town Council by- election, Rosemary Chimbini has taken an early lead.

ZNBC’s Robert Mwanza reports that according to the provisional results announced by the Electoral Commission of Zambia- ECZ, Ms. Chimbini has so far poured 3,933 votes.

This is from 21 out of 62 polling stations.

UPND’s Risto Mushembe is second after pouring 946 votes so far.

Third is Peoples alliance for Change candidate Mark Mpundu who has 549 votes.

United peaceful and prosperous Zambia candidate Standford Chikuma has 144 votes.
