CHIEF NYAMPANDE IS DEAD

January 18, 2020January 18, 202014By ZANIS:Chief Nyamphande of the Nsenga speaking people of Petauke District of Eastern Province has died.The traditional ruler died last night at Petauke District Hospital after a short illness.Senior Chief Kalindawalo of the Nsenga speaking people confirmed the death to ZANIS in Petauke .Chief Kalindawalo has described the late Chief Nyamphande as a unifier of the peopleAnd Eastern Province Minister Makebi Zulu said government is saddened with the death of Chief Nyamphande.Mr. Zulu said the traditional leader will be remembered for spearheading development in his chiefdom and Eastern province.Meanwhile, Msanzala Member of Parliament Peter Daka said late Chief  Nyamphande was instrumental in pushing for the empowerment of girls and women in his chiefdom.Mr. Daka said the traditional leader wanted women and girls to have access to development programmes.
