Chief Lumpuma of Lufwanyama district on the Copperbelt has appealed to the government to consider tarring the 186 kilometers Lumpuma- Mukutuma road.

The traditional leader says the road was once assigned to a contractor engaged by the government through the ministry of local government in 2018 but works stalled.

Chief Lumpuma says even the Jakata road which connects Lumpuma and Nkana Chiefdoms is also in a deplorable state.

He said this when the minister of Infrastructure Housing and Urban Development CHARLES MILUPI and his counterpart from Transport and Logistics FRANK TAYALI and Copperbelt Minister ELISHA MATAMBO called on him in Lufwanyama.

And Mr. MILUPI said Government is committed to start construction works of the Lumpuma Mukutuma road this year.

Meanwhile, Chief Mukutuma thanked the minister for assuring the two Chiefdoms that the Lumpuma Mukutuma road will be worked on this year.
