Chess Open to gobble K800,000

THE Chess Federation of Zambia (CFZ) will spend about K800,000 in hosting the Zambia Open Chess Championship that starts tomorrow at the Government Complex in Lusaka.CFZ president Mukubulo Chilufya says the tournament will be graced by World Chess Federation (FIDE) acting president Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.
“We’re happy that 13 federation presidents from other African countries will also attend the event,” Chilufya said at a briefing in Lusaka yesterday. “It is an important tournament. It is happening for the first time in Zambia. We are also going to have consultative meetings on the sidelines.”http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
