Chasefu Gets Relief Maize

(ZANIS) Chasefu district in Eastern Province has received 4 000 by 50kg  bags of relief maize through the Disaster Management Committee.

District Disaster Management Committee Chairperson, JIMMY PHIRI, says the consignment of relief maize is meant to cushion households affected by hunger in Chasefu.

Mr PHIRI who is also Chasefu District Commissioner said this in an interview with ZANIS shortly after he addressed scores of the local people at Emusa Sub-Centre in Chasefu.

Meanwhile, the District Disaster Management Committee has resolved to have an equal distribution of relief maize to all the ten wards of Chasefu district.

And LIGHT WELL NDHLOVU, a concerned resident of Edaleni Village has appealed to government to allocate more relief food, saying the current consignment received was not enough to cater for the vulnerable people in the district.
