Chanda Mbao Releases Number 1 Hit with South Africa’s Gemini Major

After the runaway success of his single ‘The Bigger Wave,’ which brought together SADC music heavyweights Da L.E.S (South Africa) and Laylizzy (Mozambique) and Zambian R&B talent Scott all on one song, award winning Hip-Hop artist Chanda Mbao is back with another HUGE record that is hitting number one across the country.
This one is called ‘Money Gang’ and features multi-talented and multi-award winning artist/producer Gemini Major. Gemini Major is famous for both his incredible production which has shaped the careers of well-known artists such as Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Ricky Rick and many others as well as his own hits such as ‘Ragga Ragga.’

On this new offering, Chanda and Gemini link up to talk about working hard so one can enjoy life—this is essentially the concept of ‘arriving’ in youthful parlance: joining the ‘Money Gang.’ Interestingly, Chanda’s prior career as a financial professional comes through in some of his lyrics where he encourages wise financial decisions such as investing in real estate and eschewing things like high lease payments on vehicles.
Overall, the song is a youthful, uptempo and fun record which has been so successful that it has risen to #1 on Zambian radio chart shows such as Hot FM’s Top 10 at 10 and Power FM’s Hip-Hop chart. It has also featured on Radio Phoenix’s Local Rhythms Countdown where it hit #4. Notably, it is also currently the only Zambian song on Trans Africa Radio’s African Top 40 where it continues to climb.
