CHAN: TOURNEY KICKS OFF TODAY

The Africa Nations Championship- CHAN- tournament kicks off today as 16 nations battle for supremacy.

The tournament that comprises domestic players is being held in Cameroon with some of big guns in African football taking part in the competition as  per tradition.

Two fixtures involving teams from group A will be played this evening as host nation Cameroon face Zimbabwe at 18 hours while Mali battles Burkina Faso at 21:00 hours central African time

Sunday fixtures will see Libya take on Niger while the Democratic republic of Congo will take Congo Brazzaville in group b fixtures.

Defending Champions Morocco, open their CHAN campaign against Togo while Rwanda will  lock horns with Uganda in group C games to be played on Monday.

Meanwhile the Chipolopolo will be in action on Tuesday against Tanzania as group D team’s swing in action with Guinea taking on Namibia in other fixture.

The Chipolopolo have so far played four international friendly games while in Cameroon as part of their build up to the Chan tournament.

Zambia drew 3 all with Niger, lost 2-0 to Uganda and beat Cameroon 2-0 before being held to a one all draw by Libya in their final CHAN preparation game.
