Chambeshi thankful for the support rendered to him and the boys

Zambia U23 team battled against Congo Brazzaville U23 in a 6 goal thriller on Sunday 8th September 2019. The match ended 3 all with Zambia winning (5-4) on goal aggregate, hence qualifying to the U23 Afcon to be held in Egypt.

The local contingent arrived in the early hours of today and was welcomed by FAZ president Andrew Kamanga and secretariat staff. Head Coach Beston Chambeshi is thankful to the FA for the effort to receive him and the team early in the morning.

“Sir as we promised that we for sure we’re going to deliver and we had made to sure we fight and fulfill the promise we made to you,” he said.

“It wasn’t easy but they fought till the last whistle and now we are looking forward to the coming tournament,” he added.

Chambeshi went on to thank Pastor (Peter Makembo) for a great job as they could hear the drums from the bench and boys felt like they were in Zambia. Chambeshi concluded by thanking the Technical staff and the boys for the job well done.

Zambia will join host Egypt, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mali, Nigeria and South Africa for the final tournament scheduled for 8-22 November in Cairo, where the top three finishers will qualify to represent Africa at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
