Chambeshi: Nkana Still In Contention For League Title

NKANA coach Beston Chambeshi says his team is still in the title race.

And Lumwana Radiants coach Zeddy Saileti says he does not fear for his job despite the poor form his team is currently in.

Nkana on Saturday beat Lumwana 3-0 to move back into the top six on the table.

“Yes, it is a good win for us. At least I am happy with the way the boys played. The defence was solid; I am happy with three points,” Chambeshi said. “Of course we are fighting even Monze Swallows where they are, we are fighting to win the league so why not us we are still in it.”

And Saileti said the departure of his three key players without replacing them has left his side depleted.

“As a coach, I am worried when the team records back to back losses. It’s not healthy for us but I am very confident we will stay in the Super League. I am not worried for my job, you know our jobs are like this. We are registering three players so we are on course. We will recover,” said Saileti.

In other results, Zanaco were humbled 3-1 by National Assembly; Green Eagles were held 1-1 by Green Buffaloes; Nchanga Rangers lost 1-2 to KYSA; Red Arrows lost 1-0 to Nakambala Leopards; Nkwazi beat Kitwe United 1-0.
