CENTENARY COMMEMORATION NODDED

State House says the best lesson Zambia has learnt from the commemoration is that there should never be a civil war in the country.
And state house has described President Edgar Lungu’s working visit to Northern Province as a success.
Mr. Chanda said this in Lusaka shortly after President Lungu arrived back from Northern Province at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.
And Mr. Chanda said the representative of the Buckingham Palace Lord David Richard thanked Zambia for the role and sacrifices during the world War One.
Mr. Chanda said the Royal family is happy with the commitment that Zambia has shown in remaining a unitary state.
He outlined that while other countries have been divided by tribal and ethnic issues, Zambia has remained Peaceful and United.
Mr. Chanda said Lord Richard has also encouraged President Lungu to keep the country united and pursue policies that inspire an inclusive society.
Meanwhile, Mr. Chanda said President Lungu is focused on actions advancing the interests of the people and unity of the nation.
He said the President has welcomed the apology by Economic and Equity Party leader Chilufya Tayali.
Mr. Chanda said President Lungu wants all players in the political sphere to move towards advancing common consensus on national.
Yesterday, Mr. Tayali apologized to President Lungu for some utterances that may have been offensive
