By Ruth Chayinda:

Local Government and Rural Development Permanent secretary WISDOM BWALYA says government is working at unlocking the processes regarding access to the Constituency Development Fund -CDF.

Mr. BWALYA says the local authorities are being encouraged to help the ward development committees and the Constituency Development Fund committees to manage the applications received so that the monies can be accessed.

He has also appealed to the Members of Parliament who sit on the CDF committees to speed up the processing of applications being received.

Mr. BWALYA says the role of the councils is merely to manage the funds and implement the projects that have been identified by the WDCs and the CDF committees.

He was speaking to ZNBC News in an interview in Lusaka.
