CBU TO REMAIN CLOSED

Higher Education Minister Nkandu Luo says the Copperbelt University – CBU will not be re-opened until security measures are put in place.Professor Luo says the security features that include CCTV cameras and access cards will ensure government no longer spends colossal sums of money in repeated repairs to public and private infrastructure.She has expressed confidence that security features at the institution will serve as a deterrent measure for future riots.Professor Luo said this in parliament when she presented her ministerial statement on the closure of CBU.The Minister disclosed that 10 million kwacha was requested from the ministry of finance for the installation of security features at CBU.
