Zambia’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup Sensational Zanaco walked away with an important away point in their opening match of the 2019/2020 CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

The Bankers started strong and created a lot of chances from the onset. Guily Manziba was lively from the start but his final ball was disappointing on most occasions.

Zanaco broke the deadlock in the 25th minute, Souleymanou Moussa finishing off a Tafadzwa Rusike pass. In the second half, Kelvin Kapumbu was sent off for a second bookable offense to reduce the Bankers to ten men.

Peter Kalowole equalized for the hosts 13 minutes to time to make sure the match ended 2-2.

Head coach Numba Mumamba was left satisfied with a point but felt the Red Card cost them.

“It’s a good result for us, especially that we’ve managed to get a point away from home. It was a game that we would have won, but the red card costed us, it’s football such things happen in football.” he said.

Zanaco starting line up: T.Nsabata, L. Chungu, J.Nakena, B.Makiese, T.Lombard, K.Kapumbu, T.Rusike, G.Manziba (K.Lassa 70′), E.Mbewe (C.Zulu 53′), S.Moussa, R.Kola (C.Mususu 62′).
