Lumwana Radiants Vs Green Eagles

Lumwana Stadium

14:00hrs

A week after dishing out a MUZA sucker punch, Lumwana Radiants are at home and are preparing to face the form team of 2018, who represented the country in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Last season Green Eagles were a major headache for Lumwana Radiants in the back half of the campaign, winning in Choma and picking a point in Lumwana . From the time Lumwana came into the super League, they have only collected one win against Green Eagles. Eagles have won three times while two games ended in a draw. With both sides harboring wins’ aspirations another interesting match certainly looks like it is going to be on the cards.

Both sides have gotten off to mixed starts this season but Lumwana Radiants should be able to edge it at home. Green Eagles look a different team from last season and I doubt they will even make into CAF, not this season.

My Prediction: Lumwana Radiants 1-0 Green Eagles.

Circuit City Vs Nkwazi

Edwin Imboela Stadium

15:00hrs

Circuit City gave up two goals against Green Eagles to make it 3 all at a very difficult Independence Stadium in Choma. They are a very good side and very energetic with a lot of pace. This is a contest between two sides that will likely test each other and Circuit City straight from Division One has already showed credentials of staying up come the end of May 2019. They have won three games out of the seven, drawn two and lost two, they score goals and their biggest weakness is that they score as many as they concede. Their goal difference of zero gives you that indication.

Nkwazi will have a real test here and I think they will grab a win.

My Prediction: Circuit City 1-2 Nkwazi

Napsa Stars Vs FC MUZA

Woodlands Stadium

15:00hrs

It will take a major miracle for MUZA to pull off an upset of one of the Premier League’s big sides and the market for this one certainly reflects the differing form of the two sides.

MUZA are one of two winless sides and have the worst goal difference in the league, that is in combination of the two streams. Napsa Star’s attackers will see this as a great opportunity to boost their tallies for the season and the opportunity to climb high on the table which looks very competitive just in week eight.

Even with a relatively thin squad, whoever does play for Napsa Stars should be able to take care of business here. I don’t see any hope for MUZA in this one but football what it is may still have an opening for an upset. I still think MUZA are going back to Division One and its followers should be worried that they will be entering mid-season next week without a win after this round of games.

My Prediction: Napsa Stars 2-0 MUZA

Forest Rangers Vs Power Dynamos

Levy Mwanawasa Stadium

15:00hrs

Forest Rangers would love to make this game the one where they end their losing and drawing streak to Power Dynamos but they have a tough task ahead of them. They last beat Power Dynamos in 2015, on 18th November. That game ended 1-0. In the 22 games against Power Dynamos, Forest Rangers only have 2 wins and of course they have picked 11 points in 11 draws but they have lost 9 times in that period.

To win a game of football, you generally need to score goals and Forest Rangers have improved in that front this season, but to win titles you need to have a better defense, something that Forest Rangers doesn’t have this season. With fun of scoring, they are allowing as much. They have scored 10 so far and allowed 9. Not good getting into a fixture with Power Dynamos that look like they will fight for the top slot again this weekend.

Power Dynamos drew their last game against Napsa Stars before that three straight wins and will see this as a perfect rebound game given the opposition’s recent form and their history against them. Forest Rangers though know they are on a two winning streak desperately hoping to add a third. A good game of football but with the form Forest Rangers are in, we may see a 12th draw in 23 league games between these sides.

My Prediction: Forest Rangers 1-1 Power Dynamos
