BUSINESS EXECUTIVE SUES HH, UPND

By Hector Simfukwe:A Lusaka business executive has sued UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema and three others seeking an order of the court that the UPND be declared bankrupt for allegedly failing to pay its debt amounting to 5-hundred and 20 thousand Kwacha.Prince Siame says it is for this reason that the court should dissolve and de-register the UPND.Siame and Prospect Tech Limited has sued Steven Katuka, Miriam Masando an organising committee chairperson for card renewal, Mr. Hichilema and the UPND.He wants an order for the payment of 4-hundred thousand Kwacha plus 30 percent interest amounting to 1-hundred and 20 thousand Kwacha bringing the total due to 5-hundred and 20 thousand Kwacha.Mr Siame and the company are asking the Lusaka High Court for an order that the defendants pay all the costs for the collection and charges, incidental, connected to the suit.They have further claimed for exemplary and aggravated damages and costs.This is according to the statement of claim filed by Mr. Siame’s lawyer Tutwa Ngulube in the Lusaka High Court.The defendants contracted Mr. Siame and the company to print 200, 000 tickets for the national card renewal exercise at a cost of K2 per ticket.The amount translated into the amount of 4-hundred thousand Kwacha.Mr. Siame stated that after the execution of the said agreement, he printed 2-hundred thousand tickets.Mr. Siame alleged that despite delivering the said tickets within the agreed period.
